摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply control system for a peripheral device such as a printer device connected to a computer network and, particularly, a power supply control system for efficiently supplying power to a peripheral device with the most probability to use by performing the on/off control of power supply of the peripheral device based on the use history of the peripheral device, the access history to the peripheral device by a user, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: Host equipment creates print data and transmits a print job to a language monitor 2 through a spooler 1. The language monitor 2 reads software of log output (log output.dll), and records the history information of the print job in a log file 4. The thus-created history information is referred to, when the corresponding host equipment is powered on, to transmit a power-on command to a printer device P1 or P2 having a history of print job within a regulated time, whereby the peripheral device with the high probability to use is automatically powered on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
