Provided is a blood purification device capable of quickly and accurately ascertaining whether the replacement fluid inside an air-trap chamber is insufficient. A blood purification device equipped with a blood circuit 1, a dialyzer 2 capable of purifying blood flowing through the blood circuit 1, a blood pump P1 for transporting blood inside the blood circuit, and positioned in an artery-side blood circuit 1a, and an air-trap chamber 5 capable of capturing air contained in the blood flowing through the blood circuit 1, wherein the air-trap chamber 5 is connected to a squeeze pump P3 (replacement fluid injection means) capable of injecting the replacement fluid, makes it possible to form a replacement fluid layer on top of the blood layer, and is equipped with a blood-fluid interface detection means 6 capable of detecting the interface between the replacement fluid layer and the blood layer formed in the air-trap chamber 5. Furthermore, it is possible to detect whether the replacement fluid inside the air-trap chamber 5 is insufficient on the basis of the interface between the replacement fluid layer and the blood layer detected by the blood-fluid interface detection means 6. |
