摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery monitoring device which can cope with a change in the number of battery cells without changing a control program and a control structure, even when the number of a plurality of battery cells connected to the battery monitoring device is changed.SOLUTION: A battery monitoring device 1 measures cell voltages of a plurality of serially connected battery cells, and causes an electric charge of the battery cell of which the cell voltage is higher than the other battery cells to be discharged in at least one discharge circuit of a plurality of discharge circuits 4. The battery monitoring device comprises a control part 5, a total voltage measurement terminal 2, and a cell voltage measurement terminal 3, and the discharge circuit 4 includes a switch and is connected to the cell voltage measurement terminal 3. The control part 5 obtains a total voltage measurement value, sets the switch included in the discharge circuit 4 to an On state, obtains an inter-terminal electric potential difference measurement value of the cell voltage measurement terminal 3 to which the discharge circuit in which the switch is set to the On state is connected, determines whether or not there is a determination object abnormality on the basis of the inter-terminal electric potential measurement value and the total voltage measurement value, and determines the number of connected cells when it is determined that there is no determination object abnormality.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
