[Problem] To provide a polyester resin-coated metal sheet that retains a highly decorative quality and photoluminescence while having excellent coating material adhesiveness capable of withstanding harsh molding and working, and a container that uses the sheet. [Solution] This polyester resin-coated metal sheet is characterized by comprising a metal sheet and a non-oriented polyester resin formed from multiple layers disposed on at least one surface of the metal sheet; of the multiple layers, the difference in the melting temperature between a surface layer and an adjacent layer in contact with the surface layer is 10°C or greater, and the difference in tensile stress at an elongation of 250% under a temperature of 70°C is less than 3 MPa in tensile tests in a single-layer film state corresponding to each layer; and the surface layer contains microparticles.
