Intermediate components (20) include a data-recording interface (21.1-21.3) for data-transmission connections (60.1-60.3) set up to transmit data from peripheral units (31-33) in the direction of the intermediate components. A communications interface (22) for a first communications connection (70) is set up to transmit data from the intermediate components to a position-measuring device (10). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) A system with electronic intermediate components, a position-measuring device and a peripheral unit; (b) and for a position-measuring device with a communications interface.
