The use of pharmaceutical compositions containing diazoxide (I) (i.e. 7-chloro-3-methyl-2H-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine-1,1-dioxide) is claimed in the production of medicaments for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases associated with retinal ischemia.
