<p>The addition of additives, in particular colourants, to polyesters such as polyethyleneterephthalate is achieved by dissolving or dispersing the additive into an ester of an alcohol and a substantially straight chained fatty acid having from C14-C22 carbon atoms. The advent of a liquid colourant has particular advantages to the food packaging industry. The preferred carrier is the ester of oleic acid and ethylene glycol and thus may additionally comprise a thickener or a plasticiser.</p> |
