PURPOSE:To purify and remove odor within an electrical heater by the action of catalyst by a method wherein at least one surface of an electrical heater and a thermal reflecting plate is formed with a porous covering layer containing at least catalyst substance. CONSTITUTION:Since a porous covering layer 12 containing catalyst substance formed at a surface of an electrical heater 1 is provided to cover the electrical heater 1, infra-red rays radiated from the electrical heater toward an entire circumference is applied to the porous covering layer 12, resulting in that the porous covering layer 12 is rapidly heated and catalyst substance carried in the layer is activated within a short period of time. In turn, air containing odor substance is heated by the electrical heater as current is applied to the electrical heater 1, and a natural convection flow is generated and then a circulation flow is produced in a foot warmer. Odor substance in the circulation air is rapidly oxidized and purified under a catalyst oxidization action of the catalyst substance activated in the porous covering layer 12 set at the surface of the electrical heater 1 when the odor substance is brought into contact with the electrical heater 1 and then the odor is discharged into the foot warmer as non-smelled air. |
