PURPOSE:To improve a sealing property and a lubrication property on a slide face by matrix tissue which has spiral directivity which appears on the slide face. CONSTITUTION:A slide material for mechanical seal consists of core sections 11, 12 in which carbon or SiC is formed circularly and a surface layer section 13 which covers the core sections 11, 12. The surface layer section 13 is composite material which has matrix structure in which carbon fiber or SiC fiber 131 and carbonized material or Si material 132 are combined. The carbon fiber or SiC fiber 131 has spiral directivity at mutually different angle in some parts in the direction of radius on a slide face A. |
