<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary press in which a place where a defective occurs in terms of a printing pitch length can be found and removed. <P>SOLUTION: This rotary press is equipped with: a plurality of printing units 2<SB>1</SB>-2<SB>6</SB>; a register mark detectors 15<SB>1</SB>-15<SB>6</SB>which are provided in the respective printing units so as to detect a register mark printed by a plate cylinder of the printing unit; a printing-pitch-length measuring means for measuring the printing pitch length between detection signals which are output from the register mark detectors; a determination means for determining whether or not the measured printing pitch length falls within tolerance of a specified printing pitch length; and a recording means for recording information on the position of the occurrence of paper waste in a web by considering that the paper waste occurs, when it is determined that the measured printing pitch length goes out of the tolerance of the specified printing pitch length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
