PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which is stabilized in oscillation conditions and is stabilized in oscillation wavelength with extremely high accuracy. SOLUTION: An LD (semiconductor laser) 2 and an optical waveguide 3 are positioned and fixed onto a base substrate 1 in such a manner that the optical axis of the LD 2 and the optical axis of the waveguide 3 of the optical waveguide 3 are aligned. Next, an optical fiber block 7 formed by mounting a ferrule 6 at the front end of an optical fiber 5 is connected and fixed with an adhesive to the rear end of the optical waveguide 3 by aligning the optical axes of the waveguide 4 and the optical fiber 5. On the other hand, a cooling element 10 is previously fixed by solder, etc., into a metallic case 8. The base substrate 1 mounted with the optical waveguide 3 and LD 2 mounting the optical fiber block 7 is fixed by solder, etc., onto the cooling element 10. Finally, a cap 9 is hermetically put on the case 8, by which the optical module 20 is obtd. |
