Hydrophobic coating composition for treating windows

A composition for a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating comprises: (i) at least one fluorinated alkoxysilane in which the alkoxy functional groups are directly bonded to a silicon atom; (ii) an aqueous solvent system; and (iii) at least one catalyst selected from a Bronsted acid or base. Also claimed is a process for the manufacture of windows with at least part of the surface covered with the claimed composition.
