The liquid level sensor has two sensibly parallel electrodes(21,22) which extend vertically downwards into a cavity containing the liquid in a normal state. An electronic circuit is designed to produce an electrical signal between the two electrodes so as to produce continuous sensing. An anti-drop device is used to prevent to formation of liquid drops(50) between the conducting ends of the electrodes (21,22). Each electrode(21,22) has similar length conducting tip(23,24) covered except at their ends by an insulating sheath(55,56). The insulating sheath(56) of a first electrode(22) is shorter than that(55) of the second electrode(21) so as to form the anti-drop means.
