The concrete block is designed to hold garden edging panels and is cast with a longitudinal groove, which is designed to receive the edging panel. The block is around 1.5 kg in weight, 16 cm long, 10 cm wide and 8 cm high. The groove has a depth of 4 cm and a width at the bottom of 3.5 cm and at the top of 3 cm. The concrete block is manufactured with a series of internal re-inforcing steel wires, which are basically U-shaped. The base of the block is provided with holes to allow the fixing of a system of anchorage in to the soil. The groove is designed to receive the bottom edge of two adjacent panels and to hold them securely in a vertical position.
