<p>The invention concerns a roll, in particular a variable-crown roll, comprising a frame beam (11), at each of whose ends there are axle journals (16), the revolving roll mantle (13) being mounted by means of bearings (15) on support of said axle journals (16), in which roll a glide shoe (14) has been provided in connection with the frame beam (11) in order to produce a loading pressure in the nip between the variable-crown roll (10) and its backup roll. A hose (12) filled with fluid has been fitted between the glide shoe (14) and the frame beam (11) in order to equalize the loading pressure transferred through the glide shoe (14) in the longitudinal direction of the roll (10).</p> |
