PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a document analyzing method and device capable of analyzing a diagram and a table having meaning through the shape and structural relationship, etc. SOLUTION: This document analyzing method as a process where a grouping part 22 groups diagrams and sentences based on positional information that represents the physical relationships of the diagrams and the sentences, a process where a subject part extracting part 24 extracts a description part showing a format content of the document from the document data, and a process where a document semantic generating part 25 selects a corresponding rule from document semantic generation rules that are preliminarily defined in accordance with the format content of extracted document and outputs diagram semantic information based on the rule and the grouped diagram and sentences when document data of a document comprising diagrams and sentences is inputted. |
