Motor vehicle headlamp

The headlamp has a light source, a reflector and a transparent plate (20) with optical profiles by which the light is scattered in the horizontal direction. An optical profile (28) in one part of the plate scatters light on one side to the right. An optical profile (30) in another part of the plate scatters light on one side to the left. A screening device (32) can screen part of the plate so that light is only scattered to one side. An Independent claim is also included for a system with left and right headlamps.
