PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing display quality decline and reducing a manufacture cost. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is constituted so as to supply scanning signals from a scanning line driving circuit 20 to the scanning lines 1, supply video signals from a signal line driving circuit 21 to the signal lines 2 and supply the same potential as the potential for turning off a thin film transistor 3 of the scanning signals from a power source 25 for a black matrix to the black matrix 8 of a display part provided with the thin film transistor 3 formed on a thin film transistor array substrate and arranged in a matrix shape at the intersections of the plural scanning lines 1 and the plural signal lines 2 for which a gate electrode is connected to the scanning line 1 and a source electrode is connected to the signal line 2 respectively and the black matrix 8 formed on an opposing substrate and constituted so as to interrupt leaking light.
