PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic cylinder cushion device fitted with a floating type cushion ring, wherein the piston fastening part is strengthened and the durability is enhanced by changing the configuration of cushion ring stopping of the piston rod. SOLUTION: A ring-shaped mounting groove 3b is formed at the tip of a piston rod 3, and a ring-shaped stopping member 29 is fitted in the groove 3b, and a ring insertion part 3a having the same diameter as the body of piston rod is provided between the stopping member 29 and a piston insertion part 3f, and a cushion ring 30 is loosely fitted in the ring insertion part 3a. When the piston rod 3 elongates to cause the cushion ring 30 to intrude into a cushion hole 31, a flow passage 32 for return oil on the side with rod chamber 7a is throttled to generate the cushion effect.
