PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle device for opening and closing a door, which can be formed into a long shape and has a simple configuration and can be produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: This handle device for opening and closing a door comprises a casing 1, a handle 2, a lock member 5 and a lock mechanism 6. The handle 2 is attached to the casing 1 through a connecting shaft 4 in a freely undulating and rotatable manner. The lock member 5 is attached to the handle 2 in a freely rotatable and slidable manner back-and-forth and can be rotated to the handle 2 and slid back-and-forth by inserting a key piece to the lock member 5. The lock mechanism 6 is equipped with a lock member 61 having a lock claw 61d. This lock member 61 is located at the rear side of the lock member 5 in the handle 2 in a movable manner in up-and-down direction, the lock claw 61d enters into a claw lock hole 18 in the handle 2 thereby locking the handle 2 in lie-down state and the casing 1, the lock claw 61d is pulled out from the claw lock hole 18 when the claw is moved to the upper side as a result of sliding of the lock member 5 to the rear side, and the handle 2 is released from the locking with the casing 1 and rises at the front side.
