PURPOSE: A water quality sensor of a washing machine is provided to prevent the sensitivity reduction of an electrode by restricting the projection degree of the electrode protruded upward a housing from being changed even if foreign materials are deposited in the housing. CONSTITUTION: A water quality sensor of a washing machine is composed of a housing(54) mounted at the side of a tub of the washing machine; an electrode(56) installed in the housing, wherein one end of the electrode is projected outward the housing to detect the quality of water contained in the tub; and a sensitivity reduction-preventing unit(68) for surrounding a lower outer periphery of the protruded part of the electrode. The sensitivity reduction-preventing unit is projected on the upside of the housing, formed in a cylinder shape, and fitted and mounted to the projected one end of the electrode.
