<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility and operationality of application software having a plurality of display areas. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not the display direction of a printing area 34 of an editing area 33 is changed (S110). When the display direction of the printing area 34 is changed (S110: YES), it is determined whether or not the shape of an auxiliary area 41 is set so as to be changed when the display direction of the printing area 34 is changed (S120). When the shape of the auxiliary area 41 is set to be changed (S120: YES), it is determined whether or not the direction of pane indication of the auxiliary area 41 is the same as the changed display direction of the printing area 34 (S130).
