PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system in which use of a scanner by a 3rd party can be blocked, a mode set at reservation is validated until reading of a reserved party is completed and an accidental power OFF by the 3rd party can be blocked. SOLUTION: The information processing system that reads data of a scanner connected to a network, generates a template to specify the operating mode of the scanner and a transfer destination of the data, transmits the scanner the template, receives an ID in cross-reference with the template returned from the scanner, and transmits the ID to the scanner to give a read instruction to the scanner and transmits the template to the scanner to reserve the scanner.
