PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a nail interval measuring instrument so as to be used without using another tool. SOLUTION: The nail interval measuring instrument A has a case, a first arm 110 and a second arm 120 projecting from the case. These arms are provided with nearly rod-shaped arm bodies 1101 and 1201 and have abutting parts 1102 and 1202 fitted at their tips. The tips of the abutting parts consist of a part of a spherical surface. On the outer sides of the tips of the arm bodies, blade-like engaging pieces 1103 and 1203 are formed. In the case of measuring the interval between nails, curved surface parts at the tip of both the abutting parts are abutted on a panel surface and the curved surfaces of vertical abutting surface contactors positioned on both of the outer sides of the first arm 110 and the second arm 120 are abutted on the inner sides of the nails to bring the curved surfaces of both of parallel butting surface contactors into contact with the nails. Thus, since the interval between the nails can be measured while performing three-point supporting by both of the first arm and the second arm, accurate measurement is realized without using a level.
