PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus for a river bed, lake/marsh beds or the like, by actively removing and gathering substances which causes the pollution of rivers or the like. SOLUTION: This cleaning device for the river bed, lake/marsh beds and the like is operated for removing the substance intended for removal sticking to and lying between rocks and pebbles scattered in the river bed, lake/marsh beds and the like and collecting/recovering the substance thus removed. This device is equipped with a jet removing means which forcibly spews a generated water current to the substance intended for cleaning and a recovery means which collects the substance and recovers it at a specified spot.
