PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample carrier holding a sample set on a stage at a position constant to the stage, even if the stage is moved at high speed at least in a main scanning direction, and positively preventing positional deviation of the sample on the stage. SOLUTION: This sample carrier 50, settable on the stage moved at least in the main scanning direction, comprises a sample guide 51 formed with openings 56 and 57, and a sample carrier body 52 capable of housing and fixing the sample guide. It is characterized by at least the lower parts of mutually facing pairs of outer wall parts 56a, 56b, 57a, and 57b of the sample guide formed with the openings protrude inside the openings, a sample-holding part 60 capable of supporting the sample being provided on its upper face, and the sample carrier body being provided with a cover 65 covering the sample guide so that it has watertightness.
