PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dwelling house, which is equipped with a main entrance, a living room space and a courtyard space and has an excellent arrangement structure suitable for grid planning, and whereinto a guest can be agreeably invited. SOLUTION: The dwelling house is provided with the main entrance 1 having a three-grid width, the courtyard 4, which is arranged at the back of the main entrance 1 and has the same width as the main entrance 1, and a living room- cum-dining room 3 adjacent to the main entrance 1. The excellent arrangement structure suitable for the grid planning can be provided because of the precedent presentation of such a basic plan about a design that the main entrance 1 and the courtyard 4 have the same three-grid width. A good command of the courtyard 4 from the main entrance 1 allows the guest to feel that the main entrance 1 is a space having spaciousness. In addition, the main entrance 1 and a living room 2 are made adjacent to each other for the purpose of enabling the guest to be agreeably invited by cleaning only the main entrance 1 and the living room 2 without cleaning the other rooms.
