The photophore has light emitting diodes (3) (LEDs) supplied by rechargeable batteries. A base (1) has a control card (2) for controlling the supply of diodes. The diodes are carried by a deck (4) and connected with conductors parallel to the cards (2, 9) by a flat conductive wire (5) through two connectors (8). A microprocessor is placed on the card for controlling the ignition and extinction of the diodes.
