PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductive material and a proton conductive film excellent in proton conductivity, easy to manufacture at low cost, excellent in strength and high in heat resistance.

SOLUTION: The proton conductive material and the proton conductive film is formed by making a solid acid and/or an acidic functional group compound with an alkoxy group-containing silane-denatured phenolic resin obtained by an oxirane ring-opening reaction of a phenolic resin and a glycidyl ether group-containing alkoxysilane partial condensation compound.
