摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To prevent a sudden change in a steering characteristic by arranging an operation processing part, which controls intermission of an intermitting mechanism and holds a connecting condition of the intermitting mechanism until car speed becomes equal to or smaller than prescribed speed at switching time to two wheel drive from four-wheel drive, in a controller. CONSTITUTION: When a mode switching signal to a two-wheel drive high mode or a neutral mode is inputted at harness abnormal time, front wheel speed is read from a signal of a front wheel side speed sensor 44. Whether or not the front wheel speed is not more than prescribed speed is judged, and when it is so, rear wheel speed is read from a signal of a reart wheel side speed sensor 43. When it is not more than a prescribed value, an actuating current is supplied to a solenoid valve 52, and an intermitting mechanism 40 is cut off. On the other hand, a connecting condition of the intermitting mechanism 40 is held as long as both front wheel speed and rear wheel speed do not reduce to the prescribed value or less after the mode switching signal is inputted. Therefore, even if switching is suddenly performed at traveling time in a four- wheel drive low mode, since the intermitting mechanism 40 is continuously connected, a sudden change in a steering characteristic is prevented.</p>
