摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk system which can maintain the normally meshed state of the teeth of a rack on an optical pickup side and the teeth of a pinion even when optical pickup is tilted by the inclination of a guide shaft due to tilt adjustment and can normally operate the rack and the pinion without locking the same. SOLUTION: The optical disk system is adapted to perform tilt adjustment by laterally moving the optical pickup along the guide shaft and vertically moving the guide shaft by means of a screw member of a chassis. The pinion is rotated by an intermediate gear by the rotational driving of a driving motor and the rack for laterally moving the optical pickup is arranged to face laterally in such a manner that the teeth are positioned perpendicularly to the pinion on the lower side of the pinion. The pinion is rotated by the intermediate gear by the rotational driving of the driving motor, by which the rack is laterally moved and the optical pickup is moved laterally along the guide shaft. The rack is arranged via an elastic body composed of a pair of right and left springs on the upper side of a rack base and the springs are wound around a part near the outer periphery of a pin inserted with some clearance into an upwardly facing hole formed in the rack from the rack base. Even if the optical pickup inclines at the time of the tilt adjustment, the inclination of the rack is relaxed by the springs, by which the meshing of the teeth of the pinion and the rack is always made normal.
