PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic device capable of detecting whether an earphone is attached on an ear or not without providing a special detecting means on the earphone. SOLUTION: The acoustic device 1 is provided with a voltage detecting section 10 for detecting a voltage to be applied to the earphone 2, and a current detecting section 12 for detecting a current flowing through the earphone 2. A control section 3 calculates a resistance component ZReof the impedance of the earphone 2 in each of an attached state and a non-attached state on the basis of the voltage to be applied to the earphone 2 and the current. The control section 3 sets an earphone attaching determination level and an earphone non-attaching determination level on the basis of the calculated resistance value ZRe. The control section 3 compares the resistance value ZReof the earphone 2 with each of the determination levels to determine whether the device is in the attaching state or the non-attaching state.
