PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security of an image forming apparatus thereby making it possible to perform user-friendly printing of confidential documents.

SOLUTION: A control unit 120 controls to: read user authentication data from a user authentication data holding unit 91 mounted on a feeder 90 inserted in a feeder insertion opening; perform user authentication processing of the feeder based on the user authentication data; feed paper from the feeder 90 inserted in the feeder insertion opening to an image forming unit 20; and from an image according to print data of the authenticated user on the fed paper by the image forming unit 20.
