<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor equipped with a gas detection element capable of enhancing the electrical connection reliability of a through hole conductor or the like, and a gas sensor manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: A first conductor part 271 and a second conductor part 226 are respectively provided to the inner peripheral surfaces of the first and second through holes 241h1 and 221h1, which are provided to the gas detection element 200 of the gas sensor 100, and mutually connected through a first peripheral edge part 247 and a second peripheral edge part 222.
