<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for correction the quality of image data. <P>SOLUTION: This system receives image data, calculates its spectral frequency data, and obtains a cumulative probability distribution. In addition, this system calculates a spatial parameter from the image data and determines whether an image represented by that image data has been back lit.
