<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect symbol timing more correctly. <P>SOLUTION: A complex correlation unit 311 of a detection execution unit 400 determines a correlation between a received signal and a fixed pattern of a preamble to obtain sequentially correlative results. A correlation peak detector 312 holds a maximum value of the correlation results R as a correlation peak value with the maximum value being updated. The error detection threshold producing unit 313 multiplies the correlation peak value detected by the correlation peak detector 312 by a coefficient α (0<α<1) to obtain an error detection threshold. Under the conditions that the correlation peak value is not updated during a symbol timing judgement period of a given length from the timing of the correlation peak value while the number of occurrences of the correlation result is smaller than a given number of times during an error detection judgment period provided within the symbol timing judgment period, an error determination unit 314 and a controller 317 judge the timing of the correlation peak value which is detected and held by the correlation peak detection unit 312 as the symbol timing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
