<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect the position of a pulse of a pulse input having a wide dynamic range by using a simple constituent circuit. <P>SOLUTION: An IF band received pulse signal a is split into two systems with a splitter 14, one is amplified with an amplifier 15 and its linear video detection is performed with a linear video detector 16, and as to the other its logarithmic video detection is performed with a logarithmic video detector 17. Their respective detection outputs b, d are sent to half-amplitude detection circuits 18, 19 to detect timings where their amplitudes become halves. A level detection circuit 21 detects the amplitude level of the pulse signal d, and generates a level detection signal f representing whether or not the level detection result shows that the level is below a specified value. When the level of the pulse signal d is lower than the specified value, a switching circuit 20 selects and outputs a linear-video-detection side timing detection signal c by the level signal f. On the contrary, when the level of the pulse signal d is higher than the specified value, the switching circuit 20 selects and outputs a logarithmic-video-detection side timing detection signal e by the level signal f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
