PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment liquid used for an aim of pretreating a printing medium for enhancing image quality during inkjet printing on the printing medium by an oily ink, more excellent in storage stability than conventional pretreatment liquids and capable of printing images with higher quality.SOLUTION: A pretreatment liquid contains an inorganic particle, water, a water insoluble organic solvent and a water soluble polymer, where the inorganic particle contains gas phase method silica, the water insoluble organic solvent is contained at 20 to 50 mass% based on the total amount of the pretreatment liquid and the soluble polymer has acid value of 1 to 50 mgKOH/g. The content of the water soluble polymer in the pretreatment liquid is preferably 1 to 6 mass% based on the total amount of the pretreatment liquid.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
