A shoulder strap for supporting a load to be carried comprising an elongate flexible band with medial 32 and lateral 34 edges and a length adjuster 60 which can engage with at least a portion of one of the edges 32 and 34 wherein the length adjuster 60 is able to impart a degree of curvature to the flexible band in the medial or lateral directions. The adjuster mechanism may employ a length of cord 60 with a cord lock 70 which runs through a U shaped guide channel formed by a pocket running along an edge of the band. The pocket may be rectangular and separated into two parallel channels by a line of stitching. The shoulder strap is designed to be used as part of a baby carrier with the adjustable nature of the strap making it more comfortable to wear. |
