摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method for flattening an optical spectrum which enables the control of power level deviation between respective modes in a discrete optical spectrum with a simple configuration and at a low cost. SOLUTION: The apparatus consists of a continuous light light source 101 which outputs a single wavelength, a modulator 102 which outputs a modulation wave by giving a fixed correlation to a phase in each mode of the discrete light spectrum of emitted light by modulating the amplitude or the phase of the time waveform of the emitted light, and a modulator 103 which controls (suppresses) a power level deviation in each mode by deviating the discrete light spectrum of the modulation wave outputted from the modulator 102 to an upper and lower sidebands by modulating the amplitude or phase of the modulation wave outputted from the modulator 102 to control the amount of frequency shift. An optical pulse light source which performs an output of repeat frequency Δf may also be used as a means for giving a fixed correlation to the phase between respective modes of respective discrete spectra. When an optical pulse width is defined as t0, a pulse expander which expands the pulse width in the case of t0≪(1/Δf), and a modulator which performs the amplitude/phase modulation of an expanded optical pulse may be used.
