An image processing device comprising: a deep region detection section detecting a deep region in an intracanal image; an outline edge extraction section extracting the outline edge of an intracanal wall; a protruding region analysis section analyzing a protruding region in the outline edge and the protruding direction thereof; and an abnormal region detection section detecting a protruding region protruding toward the direction of the deep region as an abnormal region.
