PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper jam detection device capable of detecting jam of paper even by a small number of optical sensors.SOLUTION: Rotating pins 71 (71a, 71b) are respectively disposed in the vicinity of a paper conveyance outlet 66 of a fixing device 6 and in the vicinities of both ends in a width direction of a conveyance direction c of paper 69 and rotate in the conveyance direction of the paper 69 by being pushed by a tip of the paper 69 when the rotating pins abut on the tip of the paper 69 conveyed out from the paper conveyance outlet 66 (arrow d). Shielding bodies 73 (73a, 73b) are respectively disposed in the vicinity of a center portion in the conveyance width direction of the paper 69, interlock with the rotation of the rotation pins 71, and rotate in the same direction. Rod-like members 68 (68a, 68b) have both ends supported by a bearing on a frame of a body device, fix and hold the rotating pins 71 in the vicinity of one end, and fix and hold the shielding bodies 73 in the vicinity of the other end. In an optical sensor 74, a detection optical path 75 is blocked or opened by the shielding bodies 73 according to each rotation direction of the shielding bodies 73.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
