PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to drive up an uphill road without deteriorating fuel consumption, while avoiding unnecessary performances of shift downs, and to shorten the time to reach a peak, even if traveling on the uphill road where road gradient changes in a prescribed section.SOLUTION: A road information acquisition part 12a of an automatic travel control device 12 for controlling a travel of a vehicle 1 such that the vehicle speed becomes a target speed acquires information on a road in a prescribed section ahead of the vehicle 1 travelling with a first opening of an accelerator opening, and a vehicle information acquisition part 12b acquires information on the vehicle 1. And a speed prediction part 12c predicts a transition of the vehicle speed in the prescribed section if the vehicle 1 travels with an accelerator opening at a second opening larger than the first opening, on the basis of the information on the road and the information on the vehicle. Then, an accelerator control part 12d controls the accelerator opening, if a minimum value of the vehicle speed predicted by the speed prediction part 12c is smaller than the target speed, so that the accelerator opening of the vehicle 1 becomes the second opening.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
