PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in size of an apparatus while ensuring the intensity of radiation light from light irradiation means.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a rotatable image carrier 10 that includes a photosensitive layer on a surface 10a; a transfer member 14 that forms a transfer position N at which a visible image formed on the surface of the image carrier is transferred to a recording material P; a cleaning blade 15 that forms a cleaning position B1 at which attachments X and X1 attached to the surface of the image carrier after the transfer at the transfer position are removed; and light irradiation means 26 that irradiates the surface of the image carrier located between the transfer position and the cleaning position with light. The light irradiation means is arranged on a side of the back face Pb of the recording material P across a conveyance path with respect to the surface of the image carrier, and a member 32 having light transmissivity is arranged between the light irradiation means and a photoreceptor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
