PURPOSE:To ensure the proper combustibility irrespective of instantaneous increase in boosted air pressure, by increasing a fuel supply quantity for a predetermined period of time from a timing when a shift-np operating condition at full throttle acceleration is detected. CONSTITUTION:During running of a vehicle, an electronic control unit 16 reads output signals from a throttle valve sensor 7a and a crank angle sensor 15, and determines whether or not rapid decrease in engine speed due to shift-up operation has occurred. If YES, that is, there is a possibility of the generation of abnormal combustion due to excessive increase in boosted pressure, an engine speed N and an intake air quantity Q are read in, and a preset fuel increase rate in a high load region is read from a Q-N two-dimensional table. Then, a fuel injection interval computed according to an operational condition is corrected for a predetermined period of time according to the fuel increase rate as read above. A fuel injection valve 14 is controlled to be driven according to the corrected fuel injection interval.
