PURPOSE:To enhance a processing speed and to simplify the algorithm of a prefetch function by constituting a disk cache control part of a cash control register, a disk control part, a disk cache CPU and disk cache memory. CONSTITUTION:The disk cache control part 2 is conducted to a disk 3 and the cache control register 4 of an interface for a host CPU1 and the disk cache control part 2 is provided. Information is delivered to the disk control part 5 from the disk cache CPU6 based on information written in the cache control register 4. Further, the disk cache memory 7 is conducted to the disk 3 and the disk cache CPU6. Thereby, at the time of making access to a block having the prefetch function, the algorithm may be simplified in order to read the successive blocks thereafter unconditionally.
