The invention concerns the method and relevant equipment for adding metallic catalysts to the unit of the air supporting combustion which is humidified, simplifying the known procedures for adding the said catalysts to the fuel and allowing easy and automatic control of the catalysts on the basis of the analysis of the flue gas. The aqueous solution of the catalysts (2) is contained in a tank (1) equipped with a scrubbing pump for the air, which, enriched with humidity and catalysts, saturates in one or more turrets (5) against the flow of the solution sent with the appropriate pump (6), through a stabilizer (7) containing an oily solution of catalysts (8) and reaches, on suction (9) of the fan, the air supporting combustion which goes to the burner or to the engine.
