Method of stripping a landfill site

In the method presented, to strip a landfill site, in particular for recovering toxic or explosive deposits in the landfill site, the landfill-site area to be extracted is provided with a cover layer which serves as a protective layer against the dangerous deposits in the landfill site and which is subdivided into adjoining sections. During each section-by-section extracting operation on the landfill site, an extracting container is used which is arranged above the respective section and from which all extracting work and feed work of materials is carried out. During each extracting operation, a trench is cleared under the exposed section. The trench is subsequently lined with plastic and closed again. The extracting container is then moved to the next section, where an extracting operation is again carried out. Thus the entire area of the landfill site can be extracted section by section in a first extracting plane and in the same manner in deeper-seated and following extracting planes.
