This method is used for continuously hierarchically adapting the internal information processing to variable process conditions, using subsystems of control modules arranged at hierarchy levels and function units acting as processing modules at lower-order hierarchy level and associated input interfaces, wherein a problem administration master unit (MPV) is superimposed as further hierarchy level on the systems (S 1 to S m) consisting of problem solution master unit (ME) and slave units (SE 1 to SE m) on a comrarchy level on(SB), the problem administration master unit (MPV) preferably exhibiting an internal bus system (IBMPV) via which an internal system memory (ISS), in which internal processing rules are stored, an internal function memory (IFS) for accommodating current process information items, an internal memory administration unit (ISV) and an internal problem administration operator unit (IOPV) are connected to one another, and to which an internal interface (IMPV1) is connected as connection to the common bus system.
