A single use or reusable exothermic and/or endothermic recipient such as a dish, plate or similar is disclosed. It comprises at least two parts (2, 3) made from the same material and cooperating with each other in that they are superposed, one fitting inside the other or one being folded with respect to the other. The active part (3) serves as an external shell for the passive part (2), a space (4) being formed between the bottom of each part to receive a reagent (5) and a larger space being formed between the side portions (6) and/or central portions of the two parts (2, 3) to provide a collection chamber (7) for vapours and odours, said chamber (7) containing an initiator (8) contained in a package. The external surface of one or other of the parts (2, 3) has a means (9) for releasing the initiator which acts on the reagent (5) in space (4). The reagent is contained or placed in a package and causes an exothermic or endothermic reaction when acted upon by the released initiator. The two parts (2, 3) are linked by means of a hinge so that, when joined, they form a single unit. Application in general to on-board or field catering. <IMAGE> |
